Why is Rainbow Town so important to our Community?

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”
Matthew 19:14

I have had the pleasure of working as the Centre Director of Rainbow Town for over 13 years. During this time, I have enjoyed working with families and their children to create a service that promotes a sense of community – a sense of belonging.

Experiencing belonging – knowing where and with whom you belong – is integral to human existence.

Research has informed us that consistent nurturing relationships with experienced educators early in life, are the cornerstones of both emotional and intellectual competence. The Centre prides itself on the fact that most educators have been working at the Centre for over 5 years. Miss Gail, our Centre cook has been preparing nutritious meals for over 20 years!

Our educators understand that children will experience better outcomes when they form secure attachments with an educator who responds consistently and warmly to their physical, emotional, social and learning needs.

Our Mission is to work together to ensure the rights and best interests of all children in our care. We believe childhood is the time where foundations are laid for future learning, health and relationships.

We want our Centre to be a ‘place for childhood’! We believe children deserve to be surrounded with beauty, softness, comfort, as well as order and attention to health and safety.

The Centre values the importance of developing meaningful relationships with families and our local community. We want to work in partnership with families to ensure children feel sense of belonging and ownership of their environment. Children thrive when families and educators work together to support children’s learning!

We promote Christian values. Children learn the importance of kindness, compassion, acceptance and gratitude through stories, music, role play and activities. Religious Education is taught throughout the year.

We promote the Church to all our new families and share the wonderful opportunities available at our Parish. Working in partnership with the Church is an important aspect of what we do!

We want all who open our doors, to feel welcomed and want to be part of us!

Pop down and say Hello! We’d love to see you! We’d also love you to share the good news about Centre to the people you know.
